Tasmanian Peace Trust is a small, community-based charity that has served the people of Tasmania since 1984. Founded with the vision of fostering a culture of peace and non-violence, the Trust has been committed to supporting local communities through education, dialogue and practical assistance.
Our work focuses on empowering individuals, especially young people, to become agents of change within their communities. By providing grants and resources, we help schools, local groups and educators develop projects and programs that encourage respect, understanding and peaceful conflict resolution.
We believe that lasting peace begins with education and awareness. Through our partnerships with schools, faith groups and community organisations, we promote opportunities for learning, conversation and community-building.
Over the years, we have helped fund numerous local initiatives, from school peace projects and youth workshops to community events and research activities that address the root causes of conflict.
We are deeply committed to social justice and inclusion, standing with all people who work for a fairer, safer and more understanding society. We believe that peace is not just the absence of violence but the presence of respect, dignity and opportunity for all.
